Our Commitment to Data Security

At NorthRock Church, protecting your personal information is a top priority. While we strive to keep our systems secure to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee complete protection against all security risks or unintentional disclosures of personal information.

Data Security

We employ reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized changes. Sensitive payment details, such as credit/debit card numbers and bank account information, are never stored on our platforms. All electronic transactions involving us are encrypted for your security. However, because internet data transmission is inherently vulnerable, we cannot assure absolute security for information transmitted online. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and should never share your password with anyone. NorthRock Church will never request your password.

External Links

Our website and platforms may include links to external websites for your convenience. Once you click these links, you leave NorthRock's domain, and we have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party sites. As such, NorthRock Church is not responsible for how your information is handled on those websites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external sites you visit and exercising caution when sharing personal data.

Managing Communication Preferences

Individuals can manage communication preferences through our website by adjusting their account settings. If assistance is needed, updates can be requested by emailing nradmin@northrocksa.com. While our website provides some options for communication management, individuals may need to reach out for further adjustments, including unsubscribing from specific forms of outreach such as emails, texts, or phone calls. Our team is available to manually update preferences upon request. Message and data rates may apply.

Third-Party Data Sharing

We may share your information with trusted third-party services to support church operations. These partners have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them for more details on their data practices. Our third-party partners include:

  • SecureGive – All giving and donation transactions are processed securely through the SecureGive platform. We do not store your credit or debit card information. SecureGive uses industry-leading encryption to protect your financial information during every transaction.
  • Mailchimp – Mailchimp helps us send emails, newsletters, and updates to keep you informed about church news and events.
  • Serve HQ – This platform manages volunteer onboarding, scheduling, and communications to connect volunteers with opportunities to serve.
These platforms follow strict security protocols to maintain data privacy and integrity. While NorthRock Church takes every precaution to ensure your data is handled responsibly, we cannot be held responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. Importantly, we do not sell your data to any third-party companies. Data is shared only to support church operations and is managed securely by our trusted partners.

Photo & Video Consent

NorthRock Church regularly takes photos and videos during weekend services and events across all campuses. This includes but is not limited to weekend services, baptisms, off-night events like Child Dedication, KidzRock Conference, Party Like A Rockstar, Team Night volunteer nights, Big Wednesday, Heavenly Women’s Conference, Serve Day, and other church events. These images and videos may be used for social media, promotions, or livestreams to showcase church activities and community life.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify us in advance. You can email us at nradmin@northrocksa.com with your preference, and we will make every effort to respect your wishes. For those who prefer not to be included in event media, we encourage reaching out before the event or service to ensure accommodations are made.

Since we have a large congregation, we may not always be able to personally identify individuals who wish to opt-out on the day of an event. By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed unless we receive prior notice.

If you have been photographed or filmed and wish for your image to be removed from any church media, please contact us at nradmin@northrocksa.com. While we cannot guarantee the immediate removal of all images or videos, we will make reasonable efforts to honor your request and remove content from future promotions or social media posts.

How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?

If you choose to register or log in to our services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.

Parental Consent for Children's Data

We require explicit parental or guardian consent before collecting or storing children's information. This consent is obtained when registering a child for church activities, check-ins, or events. If at any time a parent or guardian wishes to update or remove their child's data, they may contact nradmin@northrocksa.com to make such a request.

Children’s data is securely stored within our systems, and access is restricted to authorized church staff managing family ministries. We take extra precautions to protect children's data and ensure its confidentiality.

Data Breach Policy

In the event of a data security incident, we will take immediate steps to assess the breach, notify affected individuals if necessary, and enhance security protocols to prevent future occurrences. Your privacy and data security are of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to safeguarding your personal information.

Data Retention Policy

Personal information is currently retained indefinitely, unless a removal request is submitted. We are actively working on a formalized data retention policy to align with best practices. To request data removal, please email nradmin@northrocksa.com. While inactive profiles are reviewed periodically, we encourage individuals to reach out if they would like their data updated or removed.

Updates and Modifications

We may update or modify this Privacy Policy as necessary to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. All updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." We encourage you to periodically review this policy to stay informed about how we are safeguarding your information.

We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the [Website/Service].
